Cultivating a Passionate Work Culture at Kyrio
15Feb|2017

In my first blog, I talked about how Kyrio is powered by culture and how it has an impact on how we deliver proven technologies to new customers, markets, and industries. Our culture permeates everything that we do, from our physical office space to how we work together. Within Kyrio, we operate through five cultural themes:

  • Passion
  • Community
  • Customer
  • Integrity
  • Speed

In this blog post, I’m going to describe what passion means to us and why it is a critical component of our culture.

We believe passion powers the day. Passion is the love, yearning, and longing sense of presence people bring to life… and work. At Kyrio, our leadership empowers employees to leverage personal strengths and interests so they have more passion for our work.

What does that look like? Jane Keys, our Customer Operations Manager, is a great example of putting professional strengths and passion to work for Kyrio. Jane joined Kyrio as a project coordinator in our Business Technologies group. Shortly after Jane joined us, Kyrio decided to focus on building a customer service department. Jane volunteered to head up the effort. She described her passion for creating impactful customer experiences and her background in identifying strategies, tactics, and developing the processes to make this initiative not just a reality, but a cornerstone of Kyrio’s business model.

This initiative was outside of Jane’s initial job responsibilities. However, Kyrio’s leadership saw an opportunity to empower Jane’s interest and tap into her unique skillset. Over the past couple of months, Jane has refined our sales process, our approach to sales enablement, and dialed in the use of our CRM to make customer service a strength at Kyrio. Powered by passion, Jane builds solutions with creativity, care and ownership, consistently producing high-quality work.

Many companies keep a rigid career-path model that often leads to burnout, disengagement, and resentment that hold back both the company and employee. We believe that when employee passion and company opportunity are aligned, it’s a win-win scenario. Working with passion enables us to bring care into our work, and our customers feel that level of care and engagement as well.
