Today Kyrio announced it is now providing Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) Carrier Wireless Service Certification (CWSC) testing in compliance with the WBA’s Next Generation Hotspot (NGH) program. As a WBA member and contributor to the certification program, Kyrio is ready to work with operators and equipment vendors to get devices and network equipment WBA CWSC certified.
The addition of CWSC testing complements Kyrio’s existing testing services and the company’s recent announcement to provide IoT certification testing through the Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF). By undergoing Kyrio WBA certification testing, carriers and manufacturers can now test their devices and network equipment in a real network environment to ensure the very best end customer experience.
As emphasized in Kyrio’s latest blog post on “Delivering a Quality Wi-Fi Experience in the Connected Home,” the distinction between broadband and Wi-Fi have blurred, where customers expect a flawless experience regardless of whether they are at home or on the go. Everyday users have become dependent on Wi-Fi. In addition to the increasing number of hotspots, new value-added services are being deployed to enhance the end customer experience, such as Wi-Fi calling and location-based services.
The WBA CWSC’s program provides robust, real world certification testing to simulate scenarios across hub providers, clearing houses, and multiple carrier networks. As mentioned in the WBA’s blog post that details the announcement, the CWSC program provides a model to test Wi-Fi services, including roaming, offload, quality of service, Wi-Fi calling, and policing interworking. As an authorized CWSC test lab, Kyrio helps operators and equipment vendors in delivering exceptional next generation Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi roaming and HotSpot 2.0 capabilities.
While the WBA CWSC is new, Kyrio’s team of skilled engineers have delivered testing services for over 20 years to help manufacturers achieve certifications at all levels.
