Tizen Developer Conference 2017: Kyrio to Speak on IoT Device Security
10May|2017

Ron Ih, Director of Business Development for Kyrio’s Security Solutions, will speak at the Tizen Developer Conference 2017, which focuses on the expansion beyond mobile and wearable devices to the potential of IoT devices. This year’s theme is “Ready to Connect! Get involved!”, and the annual event features technical discussions, hands-on sessions, and presentations from industry leaders.

The future is moving towards limitless connectivity across every industry. According to Gartner, the number of connected devices is expected to grow exponentially to over 20 billion by 2020.

As more devices become connected, the ability to control access to these devices on a massive scale becomes more important every day. However, IoT security is difficult to implement because there’s no clear or common vision for security architecture. To make matters more complex, today device makers are also required to have detailed knowledge of cryptography in order to implement effective solutions.

As the Director of Business Development for Security Solutions, Ron will discuss the need for better IoT security, the impact, and the implementation. What does security mean and why is identification so important? How do digital certificates help manage secure access across ecosystems? How do you give autonomous devices an “identity” that is trusted and secure, and how do you deploy it on a very large scale? In his session, Ron will answer these questions and more. In the coming weeks, we’ll also be touching upon these topics in a new blog series on IoT security. This presentation is a must for anyone interested in IoT security. You won’t want to miss out.

The Tizen Developer Conference will take place at the Hilton Union Square Hotel in San Francisco from May 16-17. You can still register to attend the event. Ron’s session is on May 17th at 9:55 am in Imperial A 176. We hope to see you there! Make sure to follow us on Twitter for updates.
